"My Name Is Earl" Maybe To Return

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that My Name Is Earl the quirky recently canceled comedy maybe coming to TBS. The report says it would be a 13 episode season instead of the usual 22 or more episodes. Network television shows don't usually get picked up by cable channels after they are canceled because budgets to produce cable shows are much smaller. The studio that produces the show 20th Century Fox maybe interested in producing the show for less because they will have more episodes to sell later in syndication. Right now TBS is already showing reruns of My Name Is Earl and has done well with comedies so it will be interesting to see if a deal can be worked out.

Petition To Save "My Name Is Earl"

NBC recently canceled there quirky comedy "My Name Is Earl" and now there is an online petition to save the show. The actor who plays Randy on the show Ethan Suplee has used his Twitter account to get people to follow the link and sign the petition to bring back the show. Petitions and protests to bring back shows rarely work although there has been some that have such as two CBS shows "Cagney and Lacey" and "Jericho." I just checked the amount of votes on the petition and, as of writing it was 53 not a huge number. There have been reports that the producers have been shopping the show around to other networks such as ABC and FOX; Out of the two FOX would be the best home for the show and it wil be interesting to see if they pick the show up so still a glimmer of hope for "My Name Is Earl Fans."

NBC Finally Cancels "My Name Is Earl"

For months there has been speculation over the future of the NBC comedy "My Name Is Earl" and, if it would return in the fall. The quirky comedy has a loyal following although not enough to save it as NBC has announced that the show wil not return this fall. For fans off the show there is still a slight chance for the show as there are reports that the shows producers are talking to ABC and FOX about picking up the show. A good fit in my opinion for the show would be on FOX who has had several quirky comedies such as "Arrested Development" other the last few years.
