Jon Stewart Skewers CNN

CNN which used to be the gold standard in rolling twenty four hour news has revamped to make it seem more hip as FOX News and MSNBC have taking audience from it with their talk show hosts. Comedy Central's Jon Stewart makes fun of the changes in this clip from his show.

“New Years Eve Live” On CNN

This year CNN again has the duo of Anderson Cooper and comedian Kathy Griffin hosting there New Year’s show. This show is always entertaining as the two of them have a great chemistry together and Kathy Griffin is always funny and unpredictable; Several times over the last few years Kathy has made risky comments on the show including once when she went after a heckler when she thought she was off air. It’s always entertaining watching Anderson Cooper cringe at what Kathy says and as the show the show is live to the east coast and then repeated if you are out west you can watch the early live version of this show and then watch another New Year’s show as it gets closer to midnight in your time zone.

“New Years Eve Live” On CNN is at 11pm et on December 31st

Is Twitter The New News Network?

Saturday when there were reports coming out of Iran of unrest over the recent elections results which of the cable news networks was covering it? The answer was easy none of them were they were showing Larry King on CNN or MSNBC's Locked Up documentaries for example. The only place covering the protests in Iran was Twitter as Iranian citizens tweeted what was going on as it happens to the world. This has happened before as the cable news networks switch from news on the weekends to prerecorded programs to fill the airtime, which is fine but as news happens they should break in. Earlier this year CNBC and FOX Business did fine work with special news programs as well as breaking in for news of the financial troubles on the weekend. I wonder why the cable news networks didnt cover this event was it because of lack of reporters on the ground or was it simply for budget reasons either way Twitter lead with this story.
