Spartacus Is Coming To "Starz"

Starz the premium movie service is adding another series to its channel this one is Spartacus: Blood and Sand which will premiere on the channel on January 22nd 2010. If you have seen the classic Spartacus movie then you know the story of this show about a Gladiator in ancient Rome and his life in the arena. Starz has already picked up this show for a second season before the first one has premiered so they have faith in it and from the preview clip it does look interesting.

The Newest Iron Chef To Compete In January

Chef Jose Garces who recently won The Next Iron Chef show on the Food Network is set to have his first battle in kitchen stadium on Sunday January 17th 2010 at 9pm et/pt. At first i wasn't sure about making unknowns an Iron Chef i thought it would cheapen it but after seeing how the first winner Micheal Symon has done i have changed my mind. I presume they did this as it is easier and, less expensive than getting famous chefs but i do like this twist on the original theme. So i will be there watching when the chairman starts the battle for the next season of Iron Chef.

"Zeke And Luther" To Return

Disney have announced that the flagship show on Disney XD (formerly Toon Disney) called Zeke and Luther has been renewed for a second season. The show has had strong ratings for the channel so wasn't really a surprise that it is being brought back. The show stars Hutch Dano and Adam Hicks who are long time buddies who want to become world famous skateboarders. Toon Disney used to be the place to watch old Disney cartoon shows such as Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers but it was always overshadowed by the Cartoon Network; So the rebranding to Disney XD and catering to young boys seems to have worked wonders in the ratings for this channel.

ABC Moves Veteran Soaps Around

Over the last few years the onetime ratings powerhouse daytime soap operas have suffered amid declining ratings which has caused cast cuts. The biggest example of the problems on the soaps is when CBS canceled the long running soap opera Guiding Light after 72 years. Now ABC is making some moves concerning its soap but at the moment is not canceling any instead it is switching locations for their filming. In the cost cutting shuffle All My Children will move from its current home in Los Angeles to New York in a studio complex double the size of its current home. One Life To Live will also move from New York in to Los Angeles in to All My Childrens space which is 30 percent larger than its current home. The move to New York of All My Children means also the show will also be able to start broadcasting in HD. There are reports that ABC is working with Alisha Tyler on a pilot which could replace one of the soaps so the future in soap opera land isnt rosey. If i had to make a prediction i would say that the future of One Life To Live may not be certain.

"Good Eats" 10th Anniversary Competition

If you are a fan of Good Eats on the Food Network like i am you may be interetsed in a competition to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the show. For the competition you must upload a one minute video or picture to show that you are a huge fan of Good Eats. The prize for six lucky particpants is to be at the taping of the 10th Anniversary Special which will be taped Saturday August 29th In Atlanta. Time for the contest is running out as last entries have to be recieved by 9am ET on August 7th, if you want tickets for the show i have posted below.

"Bones" New Season Highlight Reel

"Guiding Light" To Be Replaced By People In Costumes

The soap opera Guiding Light will end its amazing five decade run this September 21st on CBS. There was lots of speculation what show would replace the long time icon would it be a talk show or would CBS hand the hour back to its stations. Well CBS has announced that a new version of the classic game show Lets Make A Deal with host Wayne Brady will take its place. The new version of the classic show will return to the daytime airwaves on Oct 5th with the shows original host Monty Hall as a consultant on this version. Several different game shows were said to be considered before Lets Make A Deal won out.
